Happy Monday, DLJH Chargers!

I hope you are enjoying your summer break! I have been enjoying mine with both time to rest, but also planning to welcome you back! We will start by welcoming students to Orientation on August 4th and 6th. See the details regarding what to expect below!

The DLJH weekly newsletter will be delivered every Sunday afternoon via ParentSquare.

Please take a few moments to explore the layout and click the buttons throughout the newsletter. These links will connect you to valuable resources and important information.

Please note that the newsletter is still a work in progress. Some sections remain under construction as team members return from summer vacation and adjust to the new format.

The next DLJH newsletter will be available on Sunday, August 9, 2026.
Newsletters will be delivered every Sunday throughout the 2026–2027 school year.
The newsletter will be sent to each student’s LCISD email and to every email listed for the student’s primary parent or guardian.

Student Orientation

Join us for student orientation this week! Students that complete the scavenger hunt to identify important campus locations will receive a *GOLDEN* Charger buck on the way out! Students are welcome to come and go anytime during the window of 5 PM - 7 PM, but principal sessions will begin promptly at the indicated times each evening. Parents will be able to walk with students, complete BOYF forms in the library, get information from transportation and athletics, and attend any of the 6 scheduled ‘Meet the Principal’ sessions. All students enrolled at Leaman Junior High are welcome to attend.

A few notes: student orientation is planned for students to get oriented with the layout of the building and receive important information needed for their return to school. Students will receive schedules on the first day of school, August 11th. Open House is scheduled on September 8th and parents will have an opportunity to meet teachers that evening.

TRANSPORTATION FORMS

REMINDER: 2026-2027 Student Transportation Form Submission REQUIRED

Please complete the required student transportation form before the start of the new school year. This form provides our transportation department with important information to organize bus routes for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year.

All students, no matter their form of transportation, must have a submission form completed by their parent or guardian before the start of the next school year.

Important deadlines for families requesting bus services:

Submit the transportation form no later than August 2, for your student to ride the bus for the first day of school.
If a form is not submitted by August 2, your student WILL NOT receive bus transportation until August 24.
For all forms submitted between August 3 to August 21, bus transportation will begin August 24.
Contact your student's campus to request any change in your transportation choice after August 21. Please note, any changes after August 21 may take up to five business days to go into effect.

BEGINNING OF YEAR FORMS

All LCISD campuses utilize Skyward’s Beginning of Year form functionality to reduce the number of paper forms students are required to sign and return at the start of the school year. This functionality will provide seamless integration with the Skyward Family Access Center, saving you, the parent, time spent filling out these forms and campus staff from entering that data into our student information system.

Instructions for Completing Online Forms:

Completing the Beginning of Year online forms through Skyward Family Access is very easy and will take just a few minutes. Below are your steps for completing these forms:

Click on the Family Access login button to the right.
Login with your LCISD Family Access credentials.
Click on the Beginning of Year Forms link in the Family Access main menu.
Complete each step, making changes as necessary, and clicking the “Complete Step X” button at the bottom of each form.
Once all forms are complete, click the “Submit Beginning of Year Forms” button on the last page.

Charger Booster Club - Thank you!

On Friday, July 31, our amazing Charger booster club treated teachers to a 'Welcome Back' breakfast. It was beautiful and our teachers loved it! Thank you so much!
